WHAT IS LIFE?
Written by: Abdulmutolib Ottan
What is life? Does this sound like a strange question to you? Of course we all know what is meant by the word "life", but how would you define it?
Do all living things move? Do they all eat and breathe? Even though we all seem to know what is meant by saying something is "alive", it's not very easy to describe what "life" is. It's almost as hard as describing where life came from.
Even the biologists (people who study life) have a tough time describing what life is! But after many years of studying living things, from the mold on your old tuna sandwich to monkeys in the rainforest, biologists have determined that all living things do share some things in common:
1) Living things need to take in energy
2) Living things get rid of waste
3) Living things grow and develop
4) Living things respond to their environment
5) Living things reproduce and pass their traits onto their offspring
6) Over time, living things evolve (change slowly) in response to their environment
Therefore, in order for something to be considered to "have life" as we know it, it must possess these characteristics.

ALLAH WILL ALWAYS BE THERE
written by: Abdulmutolib Ottan
We all want everything from Him but we never abide with what He want. We human being want everything to go on the way it pleases us, enjoy life like there won't be the day of judgment.
What baffles me most is that we all run up to Him whenever we need something, that's when we abide with all what He want and after He had given us we turn back at Him again (subuhanallah).
Allah has so many creations, yet he never forgets us, but we have one creator, and we've forgotten him countless number of times.
My brother and sister in Islam let's Check our attitude about Allah when we don't have what we want. Allah doesn't answer to our wants, He gives us what we need. May God forgives us all (Ameen)

It may sound like a bold statement to make but do Arsenal really need a new striker in order to win the Premier League this season?
The club haven’t won the league title since the days of the Invincibles back in 2004 and the man who led the line back then, Thierry Henry has certainly had his say.
The Frenchman believes fellow compatriot Karim Benzema of Real Madrid is the man, but what has the manager had to say?
Well, Arsene Wenger has said he won’t buy unless world class talent is available that offers something the squad isn’t already capable of providing. Something he has certainly been struggling to find.
So what can Benzema offer that Arsenal’s current options up front can’t?
Well the player most similar to the Real Madrid man is Olivier Giroud, and if you do a bit of number-crunching and look at the two head-to-head you’ll discover they are similar options.
Benzema has 25 goals for France from 78 caps, starting 57 of those while Giroud has 10 goals from 39 caps, starting just over half, 20.
Looking at that Benzema scores, on average, a goal just over every two starts while Giroud’s ratio is bang on a goal every other appearance for the national side.
For their club sides, Giroud has 42 goals in 99 league appearances for Arsenal while Benzema has 88 goals in 188 La Liga appearances in Madrid. Another very similar comparison.
Therefore, looking at the stats, though Benzema may be a slight improvement on Giroud, who is already use to the Premier League, is that slight improvement worth the £50 million fee being touted?
Rather than gamble on Benzema, Wenger may be right in looking to utilise what he already has at his disposal.
Giroud, though frustrating has his uses. The Frenchman offers a good focal point to hit if the team wants to counter with the likes of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Aaron Ramsey and Alexis Sanchez running from midfield.
Elsewhere, Theo Walcott is able to stretch defences with his pace and is the squad’s best finisher, but is somewhat lightweight when leading the line in key matches.
Danny Welbeck is currently third in the pecking order, a powerful forward with pace but still somewhat an unknown commodity when it comes to finishing with his composure often letting him down.
For Wenger the key may be rotating at the right times, until the correct option appears – Benzema is not that.
Giroud is useful in the big games and certain away games, while Welbeck and Walcott must be used when sides come to Emirates content on a point in order to stretch the pitch and get their defence moving in order to open up pockets of space.
Personally, there would be two options that would improve Arsenal – Sergio Aguero or Luis Suarez.
One Arsenal tried and failed to sign previously and has since moved to Barcelona, the other is the Premier League’s best striker and certainly not up for sale by Manchester City.
World class talent is hard to get hold of and something Wenger has continued to say without being listened to.
Until he finds such an option he will remain patient, so must the supporters.
Remember, good things come to those who wait.
WHY LADIES MUST NOT HAVE ABORTION
Many women in the entire world have abortions. But the rate at which ladies have abortion in Nigeria is on a high!!! Women believe there are many reasons to abort such as fear of having or raising a child, rape, or not having enough money. But whatever the situation, there is never an acceptable reason to get an abortion. Some important reasons why women should not abort have to do with human values, religious values, and values of conscience.
The first reason why women should not have an abortion is related to basic human values. Women need to think about their unborn babies who are not responsible for this situation. These unborn babies should have the privilege to live and grow into a normal person. Women need to be more humanitarian and less egoistic with these babies. On the other hand, the baby doesn’t know how or why he is here. It is not necessary to kill a life; there are many other solutions to resolve this problem short of abortion.
The second reason why women should not abort has to do with religious values. In almost all religions, a woman is not permitted to have an abortion. If they do, their religions will punish them. In some religions, for example, a woman cannot take communion after having an abortion, and before taking communion again, she must do many things as a form of penitence. In whatever religion, abortion is punished and for this reason, women should not abort.
Finally, the third and most important reason why women should not abort is the related to her conscience. When a woman has an abortion, she will always think about the baby she might have had. She will always think about the future that could have happened with her baby which will always remind her that she killed it. Because she has had an abortion, she will never have a good life, and her conscience will remind her of what she had done. Because a woman who has an abortion can’t forget about what she has done, these thoughts will always be with her, and the results can be calamitous.
There are many reasons why women should not have an abortion. The truth is that women need to think about the consequences that can occur before having sexual relations. I think that the effects of an abortion can be very sad for everyone involved, both for the woman who has the abortion and for the family who lives with her.
And for the men who gives them money for abortion, remember you have a conscience and your conscience is your first judge!!! May God forgive us all.
